The measurements on our toys are from the top of the pear link or quick link to the bottom of the toy. This would include the bottom of rope or whatever hangs at the end of the toy. The top to bottom measurement is first and then the width measurement. This is the same on our hand toys and foot toys. Our toys have been checked for safety before purchasing or manufacturing them. Our venders have been around for many years in the bird business. Our toys are never produced around birds under any circumstances and a lot of the lines are Hand Made in the USA. We have over 20 years of bird ownership to learn from. We wish to inform you that: THERE IS NOT A 100% BIRD SAFE BIRD TOY ON THE MARKET. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF OWNING BIRDS WE KNOW THERE IS ALWAYS ONE LITTLE GUY WHO CAN MANAGE TO GET INTO TROUBLE. It is your responsiblility to monitor your birds' toys, and to know what your bird enjoys and can possibly cause itself harm with. For instance, does your bird like to put its head into rings. If so, you need to purchase toys with rings, or ring like parts, that the bird can not get caught in if it puts its head into.
Our toys are divided into size categories for several reasons. If you purchase a small toy for a large bird, the durability may not be the same as if you purchased a large toy for a large bird. Sometimes different birds prefer smaller or larger toys than their own size range. This (if you purchase smaller toys) can maybe cause safety problems. It is very important that you know your bird as they are all different and it is a good idea to supervise your bird while playing with ANY new toy!
